One of the busiest airports in the country, the Mumbai airport won&rsquot experience its usual rush from 7th February to 30th March as it will remain closed for the period due the runway maintenance. If you are planning to catch a flight from the airport or paying a visit to the mega city on these days then you might want to plan your journey again because 240 flights are about to get cancelled daily during this time. Redirect your flight for a hassle free journey to your destination.

The airport will be shut for 6 hours from 11am to 5pm on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday except for 21st March which happens to be the occasion of Holi. Ticket rates for the flights connecting Mumbai during this period are sure to get a huge hike. The airport witnesses the arrival and departure of about 950 flights daily which is going to go down creating complications for the passengers. The flights connecting Mumbai with Delhi, Bangalore and Goa are likely to get cancelled. Although the passengers will get the refund of their cancelled flights or would be accommodated in other flights, they are up for some unpleasant experiences as most of the flight timings and routes are about to change. If you happen to have booked your tickets during this time make sure to keep a regular check on your airline for updated information.

The airport will undergo repairing and recarpeting of the runways along with the maintenance work. This major decision from the authorities was made to ensure the long term quality of the runway. These two months would give a hard time to some travellers. Hope you have a happy journey.
