This Country now has a Traveller Loyalty Programme

Maldives is the first country to introduce such an initiative. When you visit next, you can earn travel points and use them while you are there.

Here is some exciting news for travellers coming from the tropical paradise of Maldives. The country has announced its own traveller loyalty programme.

It is the first country in the world to have announced such a scheme and&nbspcomes as a major boost for post COVID-19 tourism. 

The Maldives Border Miles programme will have three tiers Abaarana (Gold), Antara (Silver) and Aida (Bronze) which can be availed by the travellers visiting the country. You can gain travel points and use them on your visit. 

The programe will be initiated from December 2020 and will be subject to any change or modification depending on the prevailing pandemic condition. 

A large part of the country's economy depends on travel and tourism. Maldives was one of the first countries to open its borders for tourists. Since July there has been a steady streamline of visitors to the country. Maldives has formed travel bubbles with many countries including India. With other countries opening up their borders such an initiative does seem to have long term benefits.
