Delhi, Make Your Way To This German Christmas Market

&rsquoTis almost the season to be merry with Christmas on its way. During this year-ender festival, there are several traditions we are fond of&mdashdragging out the Christmas tree, putting the star on top, indulging in plum cake and of course, belting out carols at the top of our lungs. If you&rsquore living in Delhi, however, the festivities aren&rsquot as bright as in some parts of India, such as Goa or even Kolkata where the streets are fully lit up. We Delhiites in the capital find our merry on small occasions, one of them being the German Christmas Market.  

The German Christmas Market is an annual fair organised by The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, which takes place in the heart of central Delhi. The event has everything you need for a happy time&mdashshopping, food and of course, German beer. At the fair, you will find the best of lifestyle brands exhibiting their brands there&mdashfrom intricately made jewellery, Christmas cards, beautiful clothes, designer juttis, leather boots and of course, Christmas stockings, there&rsquos everything you need to do your last-minute Christmas shopping here. 

What really makes the fair our favourite Christmas event in Delhi, however, is the all-German feast. German beer by the tap, and sausages such as Bratwurst are up for grabs, along with several other dishes. If beer isn&rsquot quite your cup of alcohol, then there would be mulled wine to sip on. 

If you&rsquore taking children along, there is a lot for them to do &mdashfrom taking part in a painting competition, visiting the shops to meeting a friendly Santa Claus who will be distributing small presents throughout.
