Londoners stepping out to run errands in these tough times have a surprise waiting for them right around the corner. A mural. The first ever London Mural Festival is bringing some pep and much-needed colour to the streets.
As travel restrictions get lifted, artists from around the globe have come together and made the streets of London their canvas.
As part of the inaugural event, over 150 artists have made London their home for a month and have transformed it with over 40 large-scale artworks and a host of smaller installations across town.
The festival was finally held as the organisers felt it is important to keep the event alive while the world was facing a tough time.
"It's important that London Mural Festival goes ahead this year, showing the enduring nature of human creativity," said Lee Bofkin, co-founder of the organisers Global Street Art. "It&rsquos been a hard year for everyone and continues to be, but hopefully, we can bring a smile to people's faces and brighten up the streets."
From Leyton to Wembley and Canary Wharf to Holborn, Londoners can take a stroll to find these vibrant works of art. The organisers have also released an official map for the locals to spot the artworks.
