Kerala&rsquos highest bridge, recently inaugurated at Ayamkadavu, is all set to become a tourist destination. The bridge is 120 meters long and has been built across Chandragiri&rsquos tributary Vavadukkam, connecting Pullur-Priya gram and Badiadka panchayat.

The bridge connects the summit of two hills and makes for a spellbinding view of the area.

According to media reports, &ldquoThere is a proposal to build a glass bridge so that people can enjoy the view of the river, boats and the hills around the bridge,&rdquo said a PWD official. In the first phase, the official said an open-air stage, a food court, and a toilet block would be built at Ayamkadavu.

The bridge, tallest in the state, at a height of 25 meters, has been built for Rs 17 crore as a part of Kasaragod Development Package, the foundation stone for which was laid in 2016.

The bridge also significantly reduces the time duration between Kerala and Karnataka.

&ldquoA tourist centre will be developed around the bridge to tap the natural beauty of the place. This will boost the economy of the place,&rdquo said Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, according to The New Indian Express.
