Kerala All Set To Thrill Adventure Enthusiasts In 2024

In a bid to carve its presence on the global adventure tourism stage, the Kerala government, under the leadership of Tourism Minister P. A. Mohamed Riyas, has unveiled plans to host four international adventure sporting events throughout the year. These events are set to unfold in the picturesque locales of Vagamon, Varkala, Mananthavady, and Kozhikode, promising an adrenaline-packed showcase of paragliding, surfing, mountain biking, and whitewater kayaking. Here's a look at them.

International Paragliding Competition 2024

The much-anticipated "International Paragliding Competition 2024," kicking off the adventure-filled series, is scheduled to grace the skies over Vagamon, Idukki, from March 14 to 17. Minister Riyas proudly announced that this event is destined to be India's largest aero sports adventure festival, boasting the participation of over 100 nationally and internationally acclaimed gliders. The event has already garnered immense interest from more than 15 countries, with paragliding champions and renowned riders from across the globe set to captivate audiences.

International Surfing Festival

Varkala is gearing up to host the 'International Surfing Festival' from March 29 to 31. Marking the inaugural national surfing championship of the year, the festival aims to propel Varkala into the international surfing spotlight. Surfers from India's east and west coastal cities will compete fiercely across various categories, promising a spectacle of skill and daring manoeuvres.

International Mountain Cycling Championship

The 'International Mountain Cycling Championship (MTB Kerala-2024)' will unfold thrills from April 26 to 28 at the Priyadarshini Tea Plantation, Mananthavady, Wayanad. Renowned for placing Kerala on the global mountain cycling map, this event features a challenging five-kilometre track set at 3,000 feet. The highlight of the championship is the cross-country competition, spanning terrains such as mud, rock, and water, with cyclists from 25 countries expected to vie for victory. Amateurs from India will also get a chance to showcase their prowess, with winners earning a coveted spot to compete against international cycling luminaries at the MTB Kerala International Competition.

Malabar River Festival

Excitement reaches its pinnacle with the 10th edition of the 'Malabar River Festival,' renowned for its organisational excellence and massive spectator participation. Set against the scenic backdrop, this festival will unfold its waves of thrills from July 25 to 28, promising an unforgettable experience for adventure enthusiasts.
