Pilgrims embarking on the 2025 Shri Kedarnath Dham Yatra can now avail themselves of helicopter services departing from Sonprayag, Uttarakhand. This new facility aims to provide a convenient and efficient travel option for devotees visiting the revered shrine.

The helicopter services began operations on May 1, 2025, coinciding with the opening of the Kedarnath Temple doors to devotees. According to reports, approximately 20 to 30 shuttle flights are scheduled daily, accommodating over 150 pilgrims. Online bookings are available through the official IRCTC Heli Yatra portal, while offline reservations can be made via the District Magistrate or Sector Magistrate offices. Flight operations are subject to weather conditions, with safety being the top priority.

Booking Details and Ticket Information

Pilgrims interested in availing of the helicopter services must first complete the Char Dham Yatra registration on the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board's official website. Following registration, tickets can be booked online through the IRCTC Heli Yatra portal. A valid photo ID is required for verification during check-in. It's advisable to book tickets well in advance, as the services are in high demand during the yatra season.
