Did you know pelting tomatoes could be so much fun If not, then be at Bu&ntildeol town in Valencia, Spain, on August 26, 2015, to participate in the La Tomatina Festival. Billed as the world&rsquos biggest food fight, you will see people pelting each other with overripe tomatoes. But mind you, this is not for the faint-hearted as tonnes of tomatoes are launched as missiles and the ground and the participants are soon immersed in the red pulp the residents hosing down the participants with water makes it squelchy indeed. Interestingly, the fight began as a crowd outrage during a local function way back in 1945. The celebrations begin the day before with an all-night street party. Participants (ticketed entry) arrive at the town square around 9am on the day of the festival. La Tomatina begins at 11am and ends at 12am. This year, there will be a Tomatina Sound Festival and a special tomato fight event for kids too.
