Jharkhand's Burudih Dam Set To Become A National-Level Tourist Destination

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has directed government officials to transform the 'Burudih Dam' into a nationally recognised tourist destination. During his visit to the picturesque dam in Ghatsila sub-division of East Singhbhum, Soren emphasised that boosting the tourism sector is a top priority for his administration.

He underscored Jharkhand's natural beauty and potential as an appealing tourist spot while planting saplings and tying a rakhi around a tree to highlight the importance of environmental conservation. Soren reaffirmed the government's dedication to promoting various tourist attractions across the state, including religious sites, forests, dams, and waterfalls.

"We recognise the natural beauty and historical significance of Burudih dam and are committed to its comprehensive development," said Soren. He stressed on ensuring that local farmers benefit from the dam's water resources, aiming for holistic development across all sectors to propel the state's progress.

Instructing officials to expedite infrastructure projects, such as guest houses, sports facilities, parks, roads, and utilities around the dam within set timelines, Soren expressed confidence that Ghatsila would gain recognition through this initiative.

At an event in Moubhandar Maidan, Soren inaugurated 2,141 development projects valued at over INR 45 crore and distributed assets under welfare schemes worth over INR 71 crore to 20,484 beneficiaries. He highlighted recent government initiatives, including providing 200 units of free electricity, waiving farm loans up to INR 2 lakh, and offering financial aid to youth for livelihood support.

"Our government remains steadfast in ensuring comprehensive development in Jharkhand," Soren reiterated. He emphasised the commitment to constructing 20 lakh houses under the Abua Awas Yojana for impoverished families, ensuring that welfare schemes reach every segment of society through the 'Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar' programme.
