My first brush with deep-sea diving—or even the idea of scuba—didn’t come from a textbook or a travel show, but from a Bollywood frame: Zoya Akhtar’s “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, in which the ocean suddenly felt like both a playground and a dare. Deep-sea diving is the closest you’ll get to visiting another planet without leaving Earth, except this one comes with better lighting and worse Wi-Fi. One moment you’re human, the next you’re just another observer in a world where fish clearly have the right of way.
