Mumbai Announces New Rules for Travellers from Several Countries

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Maharashtra, the government has added more private hospitals to take in the passengers coming in from Brazil, the Middle East, South Africa, Europe, and the UK. This step was taken to keep under control the rise in cases as well as to make sure nobody coming from the UK, Brazil and South Africa is infected with the mutant variants of SARS CoV2.

Earlier only Seven Hills and GT Hospital were catering to passengers from these countries. Now, the state government has added everal other hospitals to the list, including Hinduja, Reliance, Raheja and Bombay Hospital.

Passengers from these countries need to have a negative test report. If found positive or asymptomatic, they would be required to be quarantined in these hospitals for seven days and at home for another seven days, wherein their details would be taken so as to keep a check on them.
