IndiGo has announced that it will resume operations from Terminal 1 (T1) at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport starting September 2. The airline plans to handle 35 daily departures from T1, following a temporary closure of the terminal due to a roof collapse incident on June 28. This incident had led to a shift in operations to Terminals 2 and 3.

The airline has outlined the following changes to its terminal operations: Starting September 2, the airline will operate 35 daily departures from T1. Domestic flights with numbers 2000-2999 will continue to operate from Terminal 2, flights numbered 5000-5999 will operate from Terminal 3, and all other flights will now depart from Terminal 1.

This shift comes after the completion of the comprehensive renovation under Phase 3A of the airport's expansion project. Following the roof collapse, which tragically resulted in the death of a cab driver, Terminal 1 had been closed, with IndiGo's flights temporarily redirected to Terminals 2 and 3. The Ministry of Civil Aviation had engaged engineers from IIT Delhi to assess the structural integrity of T1.

The reopening of Terminal 1 and the resumption of IndiGo's operations will help manage the increased passenger flow at the airport and position Indira Gandhi International Airport as a "Future-Ready" travel hub.
