India--s first private greenfield airport inaugurated

Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport in Andal, near Durgrapur, in West Bengal, to begin commercial flights from May 18

Air India is set to start operations from West Bengal&rsquos Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport (RDP) from May 18, 2015. Initially, there will be flights to and from Delhi and Mumbai via Kolkata. AI9713 will leave Kolkata everyday - except Friday - at 17.05 and reach Durgapur at 17.45. AI9714 will leave Durgapur everyday - except Friday - at 18.05 and reach Kolkata at 18.50. The service will reduce travel time between Asansol-Durgapur region and Delhi/Mumbai. &lsquoThrough check -in&rsquo to and from Delhi and Mumbai airports will also be available.
