The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India's leading hospitality brand, has signed a new luxury hotel in Mysore under its flagship Taj brand. This marks the brand's debut in the historic city and reinforces IHCL's expansion strategy across key tourism and business hubs in India.
Strategically located at the foothills of Chamundi Hills and overlooking the majestic Mysore Palace, the 141-key Taj Mysore is designed to reflect the city's regal charm. A conversion project, the hotel seamlessly blends Indo-Saracenic architecture with modern luxury. Spread across 5.03 acres, the property is adjacent to the Mall of Mysore and offers picturesque views of a golf estate and the famed Mysore Zoo.
Speaking on the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, highlighted Mysore's evolving hospitality landscape. "Driven by the growth of the manufacturing and IT sectors, Mysore is transitioning from a leisure destination to a diverse market. It attracts domestic and international travellers as a gateway to Coorg, Kabini, Bandipur, and Ooty. The signing of Taj Mysore underscores our commitment to expanding our luxury footprint in key markets," she said.
The hotel will offer a range of world-class amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, a bar, and a lounge. Guests can unwind at the spa, gym, and swimming pool. Additionally, the hotel features a spacious banqueting area spanning over 11,000 sq. ft., making it a premier venue for corporate and social events.
Meanwhile, Sushen Mohan Gupta, Director, DM South India Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., said, "We are proud to partner with IHCL, a name synonymous with luxury and heritage. Taj Mysore will cater to the increasing demand for premium hospitality and enhance Mysore's tourism potential."
