Travel To Lucknow In Luxury

The newly started Tejas Express on Delhi-Lucknow route will be similar to an aircraft experience

The Tejas Express is soon to be on track connecting Delhi and Lucknow. What&rsquos special about this train you ask Other than being the first private train in the country, Tejas Express is a semi high speed luxury aimed at providing a travel experience similar to that of an aircraft, but in half the amount.

The new Tejas Express will be handled by the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), right from booking of tickets to onboard management as well as catering. Similar to an in flight like experience, the train has two compartments, namely, executive and non executive that will be inter connected.
Apart from this, the on board experience will include personalized LCD screens for entertainment and information as well as a call button and personalized reading lights. The other features of the train also include LED lighting, fire and smoke detection and suppression system, mobile charging and USB points for every seat, toilet occupancy indicators, Venetian blinds, legroom in the executive class and CCTV systems.

The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will run six days a week, beginning its journey at 650 am from Lucknow to reach Delhi at 135 PM and later depart Delhi 335 pm to arrive in Lucknow at 1005 pm.

The fare for the tickets is going to be dynamic and a little higher than what one pays for the currently running superfast Lucknow Swarna Shatabdi. The Tejas Express begins its services from October 4 and will also provide a pick and drop service for the luggage, which will be charged extra and insured as well.

The tickets can be booked from IRCTC&rsquos website as well as their mobile app. However, there will neither be booking at railway reservation counters nor tatkal tickets.
