The latest country to join Spain and France among others is Greece. The country is allowing visitors from more nations from June 15 depending upon the airport of origin.

Greece is permitting international flights at Athens and Thessaloniki in a bridge phase from June 15 to June 30, including the US and the UK. Direct international flights to regional airports, including islands, will be allowed from July 1. Visitors will be allowed only from airports on a list compiled by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. The list has been drawn up on the basis of epidemiological conditions and data provided by WHO, ECDC and other reputable public health institutes.

As for India, only those visitors whose airport of origin is Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu or Uttar Pradesh will be allowed, according to the list.

Considered one of the safest countries for summer travel, Greece has had relatively lower number of COVID-19 positive cases, as opposed to its European counterparts. Initially, Greece had announced only visitors from 29 countries will be permitted to enter the country from June 15 with the gradual addition of other countries from July 1.

However, a clarification was made later that travellers from other countries will be permitted to enter Greece in a bridge phase based on different rules depending upon their airport of origin.

Visitors, from the EASA list, will be subject to compulsory testing and if found negative will only be subject to a 7-day self-quarantine period. However, those who test positive will be under a 14-day supervised quarantine.

Greece is also allowing arrivals by sea from July 1 and is re-opening its land borders with Albania, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia on June 15.
