Go kayaking in the Andamans

Havelock, one of the most picturesque islands of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, off India's eastern seaboard, is now a kayaking destination too

There is more to the Andaman & Nicobar islands than sea, sand and Cellular Jail.Havelock Island, one of the largest islands here, is fast becoming a kayaking destination. Port Blair, a couple of hours journey by air from the Indian mainland, is the nearest airport from Port Blair, you can take a ferry to Havelock. November and December are perfect months to get your hands on a couple of paddles and slip into a kayak . Kayaking options at Havelock include sea kayaking (two-and-a-half hours, Rs 2,500 per person including equipment) through the mangroves, with no previous experience required snorkelling with kayaking (three-and-a-half hours, Rs 2,500 per person including equipment) and night kayaking (three-and-a-half hours, Rs 2,700 per person including equipment).
