If you have not visited Ladakh already, then the upcoming Ladakh Festival is a good time to visit this corner of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The Ladakh Festival will be held from September 20-26, 2015. Although events are held across the district, the major programmes are held in Leh, the district capital. The celebrations begin with a colourful procession joined by various cultural groups from Ladakh, dressed in their traditional attire and ornaments. Throughout the week, there will be cultural and sporting events. You can see masked dances and other performing arts programmes, participate in archery and polo, enjoy local food, etc.
