Flybig, Indias Newest Airline, Launches Today

Flybig has tied-up with more than 15,000 agents, and is attempting at striking collaborations with online travel agencies as well

The inaugural flight of Flybig, India&rsquos newest airline, took off from Indore today. It concluded its journey in Ahmedabad in the course of an hour and five minutes.

According to media reports, Flybig will operate thrice a week, to start with. It will transition to five flights per week starting mid-February.

From January 13, the airline will add an Indore-Raipur flight to its network, and from February 1, an Ahmedabad-Bhopal flight will kickstart operations. By the end of March, Flybig will operate flights connecting all the three cities. 

Flybig has also organised a &lsquospecial flight&rsquo for a differently-abled on January 31 in Jabalpur. It will integrate this city into its network in the second stage.   

Flybig acquired a permit from regulator DGCA on December 14, commenced operations via an aircraft granted on wet lease from SpiceJet, and flew a chartered Delhi-Shillong flight on&nbspDecember 21.
