During the weekend leading to Columbus Day (October 10), the Panama City Beach in Florida (US) will hold its annual Pirates of the High Seas Festival, a free entry event. To be held between October 7 and 9, the festival remembers the famous pirate Dominique Youx and his men, who had saved Panama City beach from the attacks of unfriendly pirates. A battle ensued and after the attackers were driven off, Youx and his men held a fireworks show. A recreation of the battle and the fireworks keep the legends of the Pirates of the High Seas alive. Other programmes include a main parade and a kids&rsquo parade, scavenger hunt, pirate invasions and live music. https://www.visitpanamacitybeach.com/piratesofthehighseas/.
