The Goa government has launched a new taxi service app, making it easier for travellers to book cabs online throughout the coastal state. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant introduced the "Goa Taxi App" alongside state Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) chairman Ganesh Gaonkar, and Director of Tourism Suneel Anchipaka. This app promises to simplify taxi bookings, providing an efficient and cost-effective means of transportation across the region.

Sawant expressed confidence that the state's tourism will flourish with increased safety measures, and the taxi app is a significant step in that direction. Additionally, the app aims to reduce travel expenses for tourists who have been concerned about high taxi fares in Goa, especially since popular ride-hailing services like Uber and Ola are not available in the state.

"Tourists have been pointing out that flying from Mumbai to Goa is often cheaper than taking a taxi to a hotel within the coastal state," remarked the chief minister.

Khaunte mentioned that the "Goa Taxi App" has been operational at Manohar International Airport (MIA), Mopa, for the past six months following its soft launch. Over 500 tourist taxi operators have already joined the app and are satisfied with its performance.

Operators affiliated with the app can also access various benefits, including financial support for marriages and scholarships for their children. This new taxi app promises to make travelling in Goa more convenient and affordable for visitors.
