A music festival that traces its roots to a socio-political cause advocated by three students has now become one of Europe&rsquos biggest draw. The Petrovaradin fortress located in Serbia&rsquos second largest city, Novi Sad, is the venue of this festival. The stages are set across the fort. The Main Stage, which is for the headliners, is located in the centre of the fort. The stone walls of the 17th century fortress provides superb acoustics. The second most popular stage is the Dance Arena, located within a moat surrounded by castle walls. To reach the various stages, visitors have to walk past cobbled streets, across ramparts and through tunnels. Entry charges apply.
