Emirates has become one of the first airlines in the world to partner with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for the trial of the IATA travel pass. The IATA pass is a mobile application that allows passengers to manage their travel while being in line with the government requirements for COVID-19 testing status and vaccine information.

The IATA travel pass will help passengers to create a digital passport which will verify if their pre-travel test status matches the requirements of the destination. It will also keep them updated with information about the vaccine.

This will also be an easy method for the passengers to share the test results with the authorities and the airlines while travelling. The application will also have a section for vaccination certificates. The mobile application will be a smart way of managing all travel documentation in a digital manner, making the travel experience easier and seamless.

Before fully launching the travel pass, Emirates has planned to implement phase 1 in Dubai for validating COVID-19 PCR tests before departure. The IATA pass app will also enable the travellers to find accurate information regarding test and entry requirements for different destinations.

The IATA travel pass is being viewed as a secure and efficient solution that will ease travel amid the global pandemic.
