Egypt is gearing up to welcome travellers next month as flight services resume. In an attempt to encourage visitors to the country, Egypt has suspended visa fees for tourist destinations until October 31. 

Owing to coronavirus, tourism has taken a hit across the globe. To encourage travellers to return to the country of pharaohs, the visa fee for South Sinai has been waived off until October 30. South Sinai is where the famous Egyptian city Sharm El-Sheikh, the Marsa Matrouh port, the Red Sea, and Hurghada, a tourist attraction on the Red Sea coast are located.

Egypt is opening its doors to travellers by restarting international flights in a phased manner from next month. The country has also put in place hygiene safety protocols and certifications to ensure the safe return of tourists. More than 250 hotels in the country will operate at 50-per-cent capacity. The guests will also have to be registered online beforehand and workers will undergo testing when entering the property premises. 

However, the hotels will not be permitted to host gatherings such as weddings or entertainment activities. Open buffets at the properties are also not permitted. Additionally, properties also have to assign a quarantine area for positive or suspected coronavirus cases.
