You may soon be able to visit the world's largest mall and tallest building, because Dubai has reopened its doors.&nbspThe country has been recognised as a &lsquoSafe Destination&rsquo by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

According to reports, the annual shopping festival, Dubai Summer Surprises, will be held on July 9 with malls opening up as well.

But will tourists come Or will they stay away due to fear of contagion

If you go by the marketing campaigns launched by Dubai Tourism, there's a lot of optimism in the air. For instance, they are stamping visitor passports with a special message, &lsquoA warm welcome to your second home&rdquo. Another campaign &ldquoReady when you are&rdquo showcases Dubai&rsquos exhilarating experiences and the reopening. These campaigns are aimed at showing that Dubai is not only confident, but also optimistic about getting international visitors. After all, tourism accounts for 11.5% of its total GDP.

Make sure that you read all the rules (on their tourism website) before you plan on a trip. For one thing, you will have to bear all the costs of any treatment and isolation, and you will need to get travel insurance which will cover costs related to COVID-19, and take a PCR test 96 hours before your flight.

Also, do check if you are eligible for a visa on arrival, or you will have to apply to Dubai immigration, before travelling.
