The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched a new check-in facility for international passengers at the New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations on the Airport Express Line. This service, previously available only to domestic travellers, now accommodates international passengers flying with Air India and Vistara Airlines.

The DMRC's initiative, in collaboration with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Air India, and Vistara Airlines, aims to enhance passenger convenience and streamline travel procedures for international flights departing from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI).

"In an effort to further benefit travellers, the DMRC invites more airlines to set up this facility," the corporation said in a statement.

Operational since the first week of June, the service allows passengers to check in their luggage at these metro stations, where it is securely transported to the aircraft using advanced automated systems.

Check-in counters are available for Air India passengers at the New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and for Vistara Airlines passengers at New Delhi station from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Passengers can check in between 12 and two hours before the departure of their domestic flight and between four hours and three hours before their international flight.

The check-in counters are located at the concourse level of the New Delhi Metro Station and adjacent to the VFS Global Office at the Shivaji Stadium Metro Station.
