Abu Dhabi is about to get a magical makeover. The capital of the UAE is set to welcome the Middle East’s first Disney theme park and resort, thanks to a landmark partnership between The Walt Disney Company and immersive destination developer Miral. The new Disney destination will take shape on Yas Island—home to world-class attractions like Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World—and promises to be the entertainment jewel in Abu Dhabi.
This marks Disney’s seventh theme park resort globally. While the entertainment giant won’t be investing capital directly into the project, its team of Imagineers will lead the creative design and ensure that the Disney magic is woven into every park corner. Miral, the powerhouse behind Yas Island’s transformation, will fully fund and develop the "tech-centric" park.
For Abu Dhabi, this isn’t just another feather in its cap—it’s a game-changer. With nearly one-third of the world’s population just a four-hour flight away, the region offers access to a prosperous tourism market. And while Disney has already dipped its toes into the UAE with Broadway-style shows like "The Lion King" and "Disney on Ice," this is the first time a full-fledged Disney resort will rise in the Gulf.
The park will feature everything fans love about Disney: immersive storytelling, themed hotels, exclusive restaurants, curated retail experiences, and spectacular entertainment. But this isn’t just a copy-paste of other Disney resorts. Imagineers are working to create something unique—where the timeless stories of Disney meet the rich heritage and culture of Abu Dhabi.
In the coming years, expect this desert city to become a top global family destination, where Disney's magic meets the UAE's warm hospitality.
