It was the only carrier which was operating between Pakyong and Kolkata and Delhi.

According to media reports, the airline has informed the director of Pakyong airport that it will be suspending operations starting September 30 this year.

Therefore, travellers who have been planning to visit Sikkim through this airport have to revisit their itineraries.

Those planning to travel by air have to travel through Bagdogra airport in the neighbouring state of West Bengal. From Bagdogra, Gangtok is about 125km by road.

However, those not willing to make the road journey may avail the helicopter service operated by the Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) between Bagdogra and Gangtok. But in that case, you have to travel with minimum luggage. The daily service takes around 35 minutes. For timings and other details, contact Sikkim Tourism office.
