Delhi Government To Host Children's Theatre Festival From June 15

Starting June 15, children from Delhi and all across the country, will get an opportunity to cultivate their acting and theatre skills under the guidance of renowned professionals from the National School of Drama (NSD). The Delhi Tourism Department, in collaboration with NSD, is organizing the theatre festival at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti near Rajghat to facilitate this extraordinary learning experience. The captivating 10-day festival will be taking place from June 15 to 25.

With school children enjoying their summer break, this festival aims to give them a unique opportunity to explore their creative side. This initiative not only aims to enrich the kids with the world of theatre but also strives to boost tourism.&nbspTailored specifically for children aged 8 to 16, the festival promises an exceptional learning experience facilitated by experts.

No Charges

The performances of these six plays are open to all children, without any admission fee, making it accessible to young individuals from any location.

The Procedure

This 10-day theatre festival aims to captivate the younger generation with the world of acting during their summer vacation. The organizers of the theatre workshop will carefully review 250 registrations, but only o150 individuals will be selected to participate. Therefore, it is recommended to register at the earliest.

On June 12, the selection process for applicants will take place, and the final list of chosen candidates will be unveiled on June 13. Six captivating children's plays will be staged from June 19 to 24 as an integral part of the festival.

The theatre festival holds significance because experts from the National School of Drama will mentor these kids. The renowned institution provides a comprehensive education in various aspects of theatre, encompassing both traditional and contemporary forms. The International Mango Festival, a much-awaited event for children as well as mango lovers, is set to be celebrated at Dilli Haat in the National Capital. Held annually during the peak mango season, the festival showcases the diverse varieties of this tropical fruit from across the world.
