Which Is India's No. 1 Airport

Go on take a guess

When the World Airport Awards take place, it&rsquos little wonder that Singapore&rsquos Changi Airport takes the top spot on the list. After all, it has done so for 5 years in a row, and the 6th almost seemingly inevitable. But it does make us wonder where Indian airports feature, if anywhere.

Turns out, in the awards by region category, it's the Delhi Airport that wins the first place for the best airports in Central Asia and India, followed by Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Colombo airport. Similarly, Singapore Changi wins the best airport in Asia 2019 (and the world), Cape Town takes on the mantle for the best airport in Africa, Brisbane for Australia/ Pacific, Doha for the Middle East, and Munich for Europe, among other regions.

This isn't the first time that the Delhi airport is showing up on lists. It's always had a bit of a buzz--whether for its infamous brown carpet in the International terminals. The Indira Gandhi International Airport is also the biggest and busiest in India since 2009.

Hosted by Skytrax, The World Airport Awards are an annual event that has been taking place since 1999. These are passenger&rsquos choice awards, voted for by global customers via a survey.
