For travellers heading to the Kumaon hills, a visit to Kainchi Dham often brings together a spiritual pilgrimage and a mountain getaway. The Uttarakhand shrine, associated with Neem Karoli Baba, has drawn growing interest from devotees and visitors, putting the surrounding region in the spotlight. Now, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts is expanding its footprint in the area with a new 114-key resort near the ashram in Nainital.

Developed in partnership with Suri Developers, the upcoming Cygnett Resort & Spa, Kainchi Dham is scheduled to open in 2028, according to a hospitality industry report published on October 7, 2026. The property is planned amid the Kumaon hills, with views of the Himalayan landscape and snow-capped peaks. Its location within walking distance of the ashram is expected to appeal to pilgrims, while its leisure and event facilities are intended to attract families, couples, corporate groups, and wedding parties.

Family Cottages, Dining, And Event Spaces

The resort will have 114 keys, including luxury family cottages designed for couples as well as larger family groups. While detailed room categories, layouts and in-room amenities have not yet been announced, the accommodation mix indicates that the property is being planned for different kinds of travellers, from devotees visiting the ashram to families looking for a Himalayan holiday.

The announced facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, a swimming pool and a gymnasium. The restaurant is expected to provide an on-site dining option for guests, although the menu, cuisine focus, additional restaurants and bar facilities have not been confirmed. Travellers willing to venture further can head to Mukteshwar for Himalayan views, forest walks and a visit to the hilltop Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple.

Cygnett's latest signing comes as the Kumaon region attracts increasing attention from spiritual travellers and holidaymakers.
