Consider These Alternate Routes As Key Road To Delhi Airport Shut For 2 Months

The Delhi Traffic Police has announced a significant traffic disruption on NH-48 due to the closure of a service road for essential repairs. The affected stretch runs between the Dwarka Link Road junction and the Mahipalpur Petrol Pump and the situation is expected to last for the next two months.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started repair work to address concerns about potential soil collapse. This service road closure will likely cause traffic jams, especially for those travelling between Gurugram and Mahipalpur. Key areas like Vasant Kunj, IGI Airport, and Dhaula Kuan may also be affected.

"The soil on the service road from NSG Office on NH-48 to Mahipalpur Petrol Pump is on the verge of collapsing. In view of the safety of commuters, the service road on NH-48, from NSG Office to Mahipalpur Petrol Pump, has been closed for repair for the next 60 days. As a result, traffic will remain affected from Gurugram to Mahipalpur," the Delhi Traffic Police said in a post on X.

Alternate Routes To Consider

To help ease the traffic, you can take these alternate routes:

• Mehrauli-Gurugram Road via Aya Nagar Border

• Old Gurugram Road to Kapashera and Samalkha Road

• Gurugram-Dwarka Expressway to Yashobhoomi, then follow through Dwarka Sector 23 Crossing, Janki Chowk, and several sector crossings to Palam Flyover, leading to Dhaula Kuan.

• Dabri-Gurugram Road to Dwarka Flyover, Dwarka Road, Station Road, and Parade Road

• Gurugram-Dwarka Expressway to Yashobhoomi, then to Mahipalpur and Dhaula Kuan.

If you're heading to IGI Airport or New Delhi Railway Station, it's best to use the Metro service. The Dwarka Sector-21 station on the Airport Express line is a convenient option to avoid road delays.
