The highly anticipated Comic Con India has made an exciting announcement&mdashthey will be hosting their inaugural event in Chennai starting on February 17, 2024. This two-day fest will showcase the best and brightest in international and Indian comic creators, artists, and other prominent figures from the industry, all congregating under one roof to celebrate their shared passion.

About The Event

The upcoming Comic Con India in Chennai will feature many international, Indian, and global comic creators alongside some of the industry's most well-known names. Attendees can expect panel discussions, workshops, exhibits from comic book publishers and toy companies, and the ever-popular cosplay contests that are a staple of comic conventions. This 2-day event promises to be an exciting and engaging experience for all who attend.

What is Comic Con India

Comic Con India is the biggest pop culture celebration on the sub-continent, attracting numerous anime and Marvel fans to its cosplay events.

The inaugural edition of Comic Con India took place in New Delhi in 2011 and has since expanded to several other major cities, including Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, and Ahmadabad. Annual events are held in these five cities, attracting over 200,000 visitors and featuring over 1200 exhibitors. Jatin Varma, Comic Con India's founder and managing director, launched the first event in Delhi. Since 2014, Comic Con India has partnered with ReedPop, the organizers of the New York Comic Con and the MCM London Comic Con.

The Indian Championship of Cosplay is also held at Comic Con India, where winners from each cosplay event in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune enter as finalists, and a final winner is chosen. The winner of the Indian Championship of Cosplay represents India at the Crown World Championships of Cosplay, Chicago Comic Con.
