With cases increasing day by day in India, state governments have announced several travel restrictions. It's best to hunker down and stay home, but if you do have to travel, here's a list of various rules in different states that you should know about.

Kashmir requires travellers coming by road to undergo RT-PCR tests in Kulgam district, Srinagar. All train passengers need to produce a negative RT-PCR test report done within 72 hours of travel.
Delhi is currently under a lockdown until May 3 and unnecessary travelling and vehicle movement have been restricted in the Union Territory. Earlier, the Delhi Disaster Management required a negative RT-PCR test report conducted before 72 hours for those entering from Maharashtra.
Travellers who fail to produce the report would have to take a mandatory quarantine of 14 days. For passengers arriving by train, it is mandatory to home quarantine for 14 days and wear masks. Anybody found not wearing masks will be fined Rs 500.
Uttarakhand has made it RT-PCR tests mandatory for travellers entering from Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

Uttar Pradesh has made it a must for all train passengers arriving from Maharashtra and Kerala to carry a negative RT-PCR test report conducted before 72 hours of travelling, they must also undergo 14 days home quarantine. Tests for COVID-19 are being done at railway stations and bus stations for effective contract tracing.
Chhattisgarh has made negative RT-PCR negative reports mandatory for passengers entering by air and railways. Travellers can also choose to get tested on arrival at railway stations and airports, and in case they test positive they will be quarantined in a local quarantine centre at their own expense. If any passenger doesn&rsquot take the COVID-19 test, they will be quarantined for seven days with all expenses borne by them.
Chandigarh has urged all the travellers and passengers to register themselves on the COVA Punjab app if they plan on entering the Union Territory. Citizens shall be allowed to travel in and out of the state in the name of bona fide transit but only after their purpose of travel has been verified. The movement of passengers going to or returning from the airport or railway station or ISBT will not be restricted.

Himachal Pradesh has made it compulsory to have e-registration mandatory for entering the state. The e-pass will be produced after verification of the details required a such final destination, purpose of visit, number of persons travelling and more. Passengers from Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh have to carry an RT-PCR negative report received within 72 hours of the scheduled travel.
Assam has made RT-PCR negative test reports mandatory for people arriving by road from Mumbai and Bengaluru. Passengers will have to undergo testing and wait at the designated location for the result to be available - at their own expense - if they do not have a satisfactory test report. For passengers entering or transiting by trains from Maharashtra or Karnataka will have to undergo testing at railway stations in Assam.
Rajasthan has made it a must for all the travellers to carry a negative RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours for those leaving and entering the state by road, train and air.

Gujarat has made it mandatory for travellers to carry a negative RT-PCR test report not older than 72 hours. Passengers travelling to Surat will need to download the SMC COVID-19 Tracker app and fill the online self-reporting form.
Madhya Pradesh government has made RT-PCR tests mandatory for people arriving in Indore and Bhopal from Maharashtra. They have to carry a negative RT-PCR report not earlier than 48 hours.
Maharashtra has made negative RT-PCR reports compulsory for travellers from Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, and Kerala. Passengers landing at any station will be hand-stamped and home quarantined for 14 days with an additional thermal screening at all Railway stations. Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Seva and UTS will remain temporarily closed, passengers can book their tickets at ticket counters and booking centres like Automatic Ticket Vending Machines. Passengers travelling from out-of-station/state trains will not be allowed to travel in local trains. The state government also made it mandatory for people entering the state to register for an E-pass.

Goa has announced a state lockdown from April 29, 7 pm to the morning of May 3. Borders will remain open for only transportation of essential goods. Tourists in the state will be quarantined in their hotel rooms during the period of the lockdown.
Karnataka requires passengers travelling by train from Maharashtra, Chandigarh Punjab, and Kerala to carry a negative RT-PCR report done within 72 hours of travelling. International travellers will only board the plane if they have test reports. Passengers also need to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days.
