The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched Chandraayan 2 on July 22, 2019 (Monday) after a technical snag halted its previous attempt. Themission, comprising a lunar orbiter, lander and rover, intends to map out the locations and abundance of lunar water. It will keep its date with the moon on September 6, 2019.

The three-component spacecraft will take 48 days to accomplish its task and is billed as the most-prestigious mission by ISRO. When Chandraayan 2 lands on the moon, India will become only the fourth country after the US, Russia and China to soft land on lunar surface.

ISRO has been drawing praise from all quarters after the take off
