Camel Festival in Bikaner

Held every year on January 4 and 5, the Camel Festival is a reflection of the bond that the people of Rajasthan share with the 'ship of the desert'

The Camel Festival in Bikaner is organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan. The 'ship of the desert' is an integral part of the state of Rajasthan and camel owners and handlers from various parts of the state arrive with their animals to participate in the festival. The festival starts with a parade of decorated camels. For this year&rsquos festival, there are several events such as Rajasthani cultural performances, camel dance performances, camel milking and camel pageant where camel owners flaunt their camels' ornaments. Competitions like camel painting and camel fur cutting are going to take place as well. &nbspA hotel near the festival venue is also holding a free yoga camp.
