British Airways will provide self-testing kits when travel resumes in May

British Airways plans to restart foreign travel soon. Currently, travel in the UK is banned apart from essential services but the airline is hoping it to take off again from May.

Many sectors in the UK have incurred severe losses due to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns and restrictions, and the government is planning to reopen travelling cross borders soon, but with necessary precautions in place.

British Airways has partnered with a testing kit provider to have kits made available for passengers so as to make testing easier. It'll be cheaper too at 33 pounds.

The kit would be a self testing home kit wherein the passengers would be guided by an adviser over video call. This test would then send the downloadable reports within 20 minutes, thus ensuring if the passengers are fit to fly.

Summer travel would positively increase the finances of some sectors which really went down during the pandemic.

It has not been announced yet when mass foreign travel will resume. The government has said that more information on that front will be announced in mid April. Meanwhile, travel corridors with some low-risk countries could be re-introduced.
