For any of you traveling from Mumbai and Bangalore, this might not be good news. The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport was slated to undergo renovation between February 7 and March 30. The ever busy hub will remain closed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 11 AM to 5 PM though, it will be fully operational on Holi (March 21). Massive disruptions are expected with nearly 240 flights cancelled everyday. Flight fares will put a heavy strain on your wallets with prices expected to rise by nearly 70-80%. The airport administration has requested airlines to use wide body planes which can carry 300 passengers rather than the usual narrow body planes (156 passengers).
