Listen to the roars of the striped beast or enjoy the haunting silence of the forest but make sure that you watch out for yourself because you are in one of the wildest jungles of the country. Soon after the decision from the Supreme Court, Uttarakhand government came up with a plan to bring three new eco tourism zones near Corbett Tiger reserve. These zones would be in the area of Nihal, Pawalgarh and Sandani with temporary rest houses for the sightseers. These rest houses will provide basic facilities of water through rain water harvesting and electricity through solar power. There will be electric fence along the perimeter of the area to protect the people from the wild animals.

Jim Corbett National Park is visited by a huge number of wildlife enthusiasts for the rich varieties of flora and fauna it possess. Everyone who visits the park is likely to encounter the tigers due to their high population in the area. The forest has been declared protected and any sort of unauthorised activity is prohibited.

The park has around 200 tigers and annually witnesses around three lakh tourists making it one of the major Tiger reserves of the country. Expecting to boost the tourism sector of the state and create employment for the locals, the eco tourism zones will start operating from beginning of the year. Indulge yourself with the local feast, safari rides and other adventure opportunities the park offers.

Take your cameras, get the rooms and book your safari rides. The tigers of Corbett await your visit.
