The pandemic has meant that the label 'digital nomad' applies to many more people who have the freedom to work from anywhere.

The latest to join the digital nomad bandwagon are artists.

ARCAthens, a non-profit founded in 2017 with the aim of supporting visual artists, curators, and scholars through cultural exchange,&nbspis all set to launch this year's fellowship programme. Since its inception n 2017,  it has hosted artists on an invite-basis only. However, this time it is allowing artists from all countries of the world to apply for residency in the state.

Previoulsy graced by artists like Tomashi Jackson and Cullen Washington Jr., and curators like Miranda Lash and Larry Ossei-Mensah, the programme ensures residency for two fellow artists - one for visual art and the other for art curation.

The organisation will fully fund their stay for a period of two months.

Facilities like a private bedroom each, private studio, and shared kitchen, bathroom, dining area, and the library will also be accessible to them.

The architectural brilliance of Athens will lend itself as the backdrop for the artists whereby they could observe a blend of ancient art forms and modern art seamlessly coming together.

Attending fellows are expected to attend a seminar with students at the Athens School of Fine Arts, do other curational work and also be a part of the public end-of-year residency event.

So, for all the art enthusiasts out there, this is the chance to be charmed by the city of the Aegean Sea and unleash their creativity.

The residency will start on September 19, 2022, and end on November 14, 2022, and the two selected fellows will receive a total fellowship of $2,000, as well as a $150 weekly stipend and round-trip airfare.
