Amarnath Yatra, 2015

Registration for the annual pilgrimage to Amarnath (Jammu & Kashmir) commences from March 1

The Amarnath Shrine Board has issued a set of guidelines for those interested in participating in the annual Amarnath Yatra. Pilgrims will be able to travel both via Baltal and Pahalgam routes between July 2 and August 29, 2015. Only registered pilgrims (yatris) with valid Yatra permits (valid for the days and routes mentioned therein) will be allowed to undertake the journey. Group registration facility is available for groups comprising five or more members. The permits will be available from selected branches of J&ampK Bank, Punjab National Bank and YES Bank located across India. Registration will commence from March 1, 2015. Pilgrims travelling by helicopter are not required to register but have to fulfil other obligations. Children below 13 years and elderly persons above 75 years will not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage.
