Air Mauritius To Resume Delhi-Mauritius Direct Flights From May 4, 2023

Air Mauritius, in partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, organized a Networking Gala Evening on April 14, 2023, at the Hotel Imperial in Delhi to mark the resumption of direct flights from Delhi to Mauritius. The airline's flagship carrier will resume its direct operations to and from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on May 3, 2023, with biweekly flights using the Airbus A330 aircraft in a Business and Economy class configuration, accommodating 254 seats. The flight duration is 7 hours and 30 minutes. Air Mauritius currently operates six weekly direct flights to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries such as H.E. Haymandoyal Dillum, High Commissioner of the Republic of Mauritius to India, Kre&scaronimir Kuko, Chief Executive Officer of Air Mauritius, Laurent Recoura, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Mauritius, Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, and other guests from the travel trade, top media persons, and delegates.

Kuko expressed his excitement to resume operations to Delhi after a three-year hiatus and highlighted the special relationship between India and Mauritius, which is built on the foundation of people-to-people ties. He also mentioned that Air Mauritius is celebrating its 50 years of presence in India this April and is exploring new avenues with Air India to offer seamless connectivity via Delhi and Mumbai to/from several destinations in India.

Arvind Bundhun, Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, expressed his gratitude towards Air Mauritius for this initiative, stating that the long-awaited flight from Delhi to Mauritius is a major milestone facilitating travellers from the northern part of India to commute. He also foresees a steep rise in the footfalls on their land.

In his address, H.E. Dillum, expressed his optimism about the enhanced connectivity that will boost tourism, trade, and business exchanges, thus bringing the Mauritius-India relations to the next level with the addition of two direct flights to New Delhi. Air Mauritius, the national carrier of Mauritius, will strengthen its network in India.

Air Mauritius will operate two flights a week between Delhi to Mauritius as per the following schedules MK 745 DELHI-MAURITIUS Thursdays & Sundays, departing at 08H00 and arriving at 14H00 local time MK 744 MAURITIUS - DELHI Wednesdays & Saturdays departing at 21H15 and arriving at 06H15 on the next day.
