The hospitality chain Accor has appointed Ranju Alex as its chief executive officer (CEO) for South Asia, covering India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Alex has a highly accomplished CV. Until recently, she was the Regional Vice President for South Asia for Marriott International, running over 170 hotels across the region. She began her career with The Oberoi Group in 1993 and held several leadership positions with Marriott International over the past three decades.
She was recently conferred with the Bharat Gaurav award, an honour that recognises her several achievements in the industry.
In a statement released to media, Alex said, “I am delighted to join an organisation with the most comprehensive and exciting portfolio of brands in the region. It will be an honour to lead the Group’s vision in this region, and I eagerly look forward to this exciting role.”
Earlier in April 2025, Outlook Traveller reported on the deepening ties between Accor and InterGlobe Enterprises to operate 300 hotels under Accor brands by 2030. The creation of this new joint venture will consolidate their businesses into a single entity/vehicle, subject to receiving the necessary regulatory approvals.
