The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has announced that it will lift its mandatory quarantine protocol for international travellers.

Starting from July 1, international travellers coming to Abu Dhabi will not have to quarantine themselves, including those from the USA.

&ldquoIt will be similar to the Dubai system - the PCR protocol will be different from high-risk to low-risk destinations," said&nbspAli Al Shaiba, executive director of Tourism and Marketing, DCT Abu Dhabi. "Quarantine will not be an option. We are announcing an extended green list - this green list will cover a majority of the markets that we are tapping into.&rdquo

Apart from that, the Emirate plans to enhance its borders with Dubai. There will be a specific process for tourists to make it easier for travellers to travel between these two Emirates.

The decision came after the UAE managed to administer enough COVID-19 vaccine doses to vaccinate 58.8% of its population, assuming every person would require two doses.

According to the current guidelines, international travellers coming to Abu Dhabi would need to quarantine for ten days unless they were from a &ldquogreen-list&rdquo country.

The country's extended &ldquogreen-list&rdquo include India, UK, Germany and others where they are looking to tap into some opportunities to cover their losses in other markets.

After travel does resume in Abu Dhabi, tourists can enjoy several activities like kayaking around the Louvre or zip Lining through the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi rollercoaster.

Etihad Airways and Emirates have signed up to participate in a health passport developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that would generate QR codes to share relevant testing information with authorities.
