The ninth edition of the Bengaluru Poetry Festival returns in 2025 with a vibrant lineup of poets, performers, and literary voices from around the world. This year’s programme features acclaimed names such as Gagan Gill, Swanand Kirkire, and Jeet Thayil, alongside emerging talents like Parwati Tirkey, recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2025. The festival will also host stirring performances by Dastangoi artist Danish Husain, singer Justh, Carnatic vocalist Sikkil Gurucharan, singer-songwriter Suman Sridhar, and Tamil lyricist and screenwriter Madhan Karky. Regional languages and international poetry take centre stage with appearances by Sri Lankan poet Shirani Rajapakse, American writer Claudia Keelan, Singaporean poet and translator Daryl Lim Wie Jie, and Emirati poets Ali AlMaazmi and Amal Al Sahlawi. For the first time, the festival will introduce the Utkarsh Poetry Fellowship—an award for young unpublished poets—in memory of Utkarsh Verma, instituted by Dr. Neena Verma in collaboration with the Bengaluru Poetry Festival.
