People visiting Jalandhar in the Punjab for leisure or business travel, or travellers driving along the old National Highway 1 between Delhi and Amritsar &ndash the stretch a part of the historic Grand Trunk Road &ndash will have a new address for a stopover.
(Note According to a 2010 notification, the old National Highway 1 has been renamed as NH 44 between Delhi and Jalandhar and NH 3 between Jalandhar and Attari)
Coming up within a short driving distance from Jalandhar is Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar GT Road. The city is known for its sports equipment manufacturing, which are used in many international sporting events as well as for manufacturing of hand tools and leather goods.
IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global hotel company, recently signed a management agreement with Samplast Resorts to develop Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar GT Road.

The new-build hotel featuring 110 keys is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2024, the company said. It also said in a release that there will be an adjoining strip mall that will offer multiple dining options for hotel guests.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jalandhar GT Road will feature well-equipped modern guest rooms and state-of-the-art facilities. Facilities include &lsquoGreat Room&rsquo, a bar and a lounge, a fitness room, meeting rooms, 15,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, as well as other key amenities.
