With COVID-19 cases rising once again (in second and third waves) across the world, cities are implementing various restrictions on movement.
The latest to announce such measures is Delhi.
A night curfew has been imposed since Monday, from 10 pm to 5 am. This will be in place till April 30.
Some demographic groups are exempt from the curfew rules. These are
People travelling to and from airports, railway stations and interstate bus terminals.
Those heading out for vaccination at night.
Delivery personnel and those working in shops and grocery stores that sell food and medicines.
Government officials, employees of corporations involved in emergency services, healthcare staff, police personnel, civic and municipal staff, fire services personnel, and private medical practitioners. They have to produce identity cards.
Pregnant women and patients who are seeking medical services.
People working in diplomats' offices, and those holding constitutional posts.
Those who transport essential or non-essential goods can travel without passes.
Those who fall under the above groups will have to produce tickets, identity cards and e-passes in order to be exempted.
