The Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort is all set to open its doors to tourists in August 2024. The resort in Sri Lanka will be a sprawling complex featuring two residential towers, a cutting-edge shopping mall, and a state-of-the-art office tower, which currently houses the corporate office of Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and the local operations offices of HCL Technologies. However, the real highlight will be its two luxurious hotels, boasting a total of 800 guestrooms and suites, ensuring guests experience the epitome of comfort and luxury.

Among the resort's features are 15 restaurants and bars, offering various gastronomic experiences accompanied by live entertainment in the evenings. From a 1920s-inspired lounge serving classical high tea to a contemporary take on Indian street food and charming southern French bistro dishes, guests can curate their culinary journey. For those seeking diverse flavours, the all-day dining restaurant will operate 24/7, showcasing dishes from around the world.

In addition, the resort offers two wellness centres, a kids' club, 80,000 sq. ft. of events and meetings space, and four swimming pools, including a private spa pool. And for those looking to try their luck, a world-class casino operated by an international license holder will be part of the Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort.

The resort will also have state-of-the-art event spaces, which include separate conference lobbies, spacious pre-function areas, and an extensive car park. The venues range from a striking pillar-less ballroom with over 1,000 people to an exclusive cantilever space on Level 22, offering breathtaking city views.

Key Focus On Sustainability

A notable aspect of the Cinnamon Life Integrated Resort is its focus on sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts has established an ESG program centred on three key pillars: the well-being of our planet, empowering and supporting local communities, and responsible governance.

Key sustainability initiatives include a commitment to reduce single-use plastic by 50 per cent by 2025, with Cinnamon Maldives resorts already eradicating over 86 per cent of guest-facing single-use plastic.

Biodiversity conservation is another significant endeavour, with projects like the 'Cinnamon Rainforest Restoration' initiative in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Forest Department and other organizations. The resort is also involved in various conservation efforts, from mitigating human-elephant and human-leopard conflicts to protecting sea turtles and marine life.

The Crisis Response Initiative by Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts focuses on food security programs and the empowerment of local communities. Over 1,000 households have benefited from home gardens, impacting over 4,000 people. The resort has also empowered 27 farmers with Good Agricultural Practices and farming techniques, particularly in locations where its local resorts are situated.

Moreover, waste upcycling and social empowerment initiatives, like creating waterproof beach bags from recycled umbrella cloth, contribute to environmental sustainability and support students at schools in the Maldives with personalized aluminium water bottles.
