On October 1, 2023, a historic marathon, the Tawang Marathon, will take place in Arunachal Pradesh at an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level. The event is being organised by the Indian Army and the Arunachal Pradesh government with the aim of putting Tawang on India's adventure sports and marathon map, resulting in a boost in tourism. This initiative is expected to showcase Arunachal Pradesh's breathtaking landscapes and rich culture, providing an invitation to adventure-seekers to join the journey.
The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh tweeted to share the upcoming event of Tawang Marathon that is to be held on 1 October 2023. The marathon will take place in Tawang Stadium, Arunachal Pradesh, India from 04:30 am to 05:00 pm.
The Tawang Marathon will feature multiple segments, including a full marathon, half-marathon, as well as 10 km and 5 km races. Strong teams from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and key Central Armed Police Forces like ITBP and SSB will participate in the event.
