Germany-based travel firm Flix recently revealed its plans to expand into the Indian market by 2024. Known for its cost-effective and environmentally friendly options, the company plans to commence its initial inter-city routes, called as green lines, early next year.

According to its website, Flix aims to offer intercity bus services with air-conditioned buses to provide competitive options for commuters in India. It has already initiated the process of establishing a local team in India and is actively seeking potential bus partners in the country.

Initially, the company aims to develop a network within the national capital region, connecting Delhi with significant surrounding cities and select Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. "India is committed to alternative drives and is accelerating towards a future where collective transport is electric. This allows Flix to be a key local player in developing a sustainable travel industry, setting up infrastructure and further development in this area," said André Schw&aumlmmlein, co-founder and CEO of Flix.

Flix typically collaborates with local bus operators, integrating their fleets with its technology to enhance the overall service.

Flix also plans to invest significantly in the local market, generating employment opportunities and striving for market leadership.

The company claims to be one of the most eco-friendly public transport options (both buses and trains) by adopting sustainable practices in services and travel policies. One of its green initiatives includes encouraging customers to balance CO2 emissions.
